MEMBER

Edward Guido brings a distinguished legal career and extensive judicial experience to the firm. A cum laude graduate of Dickinson College (1972) and the Dickinson School of Law (J.D., 1975), Ed began his career in personal injury law in Pittsburgh before co-founding the general practice firm Saidis and Guido in Carlisle in 1976. For over two decades, he handled a wide spectrum of cases, including family law, estates, business, real estate, construction litigation, personal injury, and medical malpractice.

Elected to the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas in 1997, Judge Guido served with distinction from 1998 until his retirement in 2025, including as President Judge from 2016. Over his 28 years on the bench, he presided over hundreds of jury trials covering civil and criminal matters, such as complex business litigation, land use, and custody disputes. Alongside his judicial duties, Ed was an adjunct professor at Dickinson College for two decades, teaching Negotiation and Advocacy, Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law, and coaching the mock trial team.

As he transitions from the bench, Ed is eager to utilize his deep legal knowledge and mediation skills to assist attorneys in resolving challenging cases. Additionally, he is prepared to serve as an arbitrator and as a guardian ad litem in custody cases.

Beyond law, Ed is committed to animal welfare. Since 2012, he has served on the Board and as treasurer for Speranza Animal Rescue, a no-kill sanctuary he helped found with his daughter, devoted to rescuing severely abused and neglected animals. Ed and his wife also care for Libre, a Boston Terrier whose rescue inspired animal cruelty legislation known as Libre’s Law.
